If this hotel were in Barcelona, it would be considered a 4-star hotel at three times the price the price—but luckily, it's not. A good, quiet place in the very center of the city, perfect for short stays.

Still the best hotel in the old town of Santiago de Compostela.
Fantastic staff. Excellent breakfast (the fruit bowl with natural yogurt was exceptionally good). Great location (in the heart of the old town and yet super quiet). Spacious room. Basic but very good (and well priced) mini-bar. We have been to lots of hotels in Santiago over the years and the San Miguel remains our favourite one, by far.
They only have one room with a double bed, so we almost always end up in a room with twin beds placed together, which is not ideal when traveling as a couple; and for some reason the beds move forward if you sit against the back to the bed when trying to read a book in bed, which is quite annoying. The bed legs might be quite slippery.
